Saturday morning light

I know most people will just look at this image and think..What ?
Drinking my early morning coffee and looking at the light coming through the window listening to classic FM on the radio. Shadows, patterns, juxtapositions, etc.
Not everything is bucolic mostly it is mundane and uninteresting.

Sunday 22nd…Early Morning Walk.

Below are a set of images I took this morning using the Fuji X100vi. Mainly in and around the City of London
there are a couple taken on the fringes of the West End. Nothing to special, some colour, some high contrast black and white.

The Guildhall.
If your willing to pop out early on a Sunday morning the place is devoid of humans.

Modern buildings…They are ok up to a point but compared to architecture of yesteryear…Quite frankly uninspiring
lumps of glass and steel.

A high contrast black and white scene.

Tall, colourful glass and steel looming over the old terraced buildings below.

Old Italian cafe rubbing shoulders with the the new Thai next door.

The “10” reminded me of computer ones and zeros..binary.

Another high contrast scene.

Barbican Tunnel…Beech Street.

Long Lane looking towards Smithfield Meat Market.

Apart from the red triangle created by the footpath closed sign and the 2x red traffic cones. London is constantly being maintained and upgraded. The yellow signs indicate parking restrictions..Sadly London like most places have homeless people sleeping rough in doorways and alleyways. Here we can see a blue sleeping bag and a cushion.

Saturday 21st February. Grey and more Grey.

London and most of the UK has been really wet and grey for days on end. This morning I took the Fuji X100vi out anyway just to see if I could find – something – I tried a few shots and they were so, so…I took a shortcut via a grubby alley and then turned around..Hmm ??….Wet footway and square windows on the top right that looked very white almost matching the sky.

Three Red Chairs

I have walked past this barber shop on numerous occasions…But this morning the sunlight was directly illuminating
the three red chairs…With the red canopy, red chairs and then the woman in the distance wearing red coat it had to be taken. Fuji X100vi.

Littlehampton > Goring -By- Sea

Harsh bright February sunlight. Nikon Z5ii, 24-70, Deep Tone Monochrome.
Followed by a few post processing tweaks.

Littlehampton Coast Guard Tower.

Littlehampton beach front. Public seating with rows of Victorian housing behind their facades catching the light.

Littlehampton. As always there are beach huts to be found on the English coast.

Littlehampton.

Littlehampton. Gas tower.

Next up is Goring-By-Sea….More beach huts.

These ones caught my attention first just after I parked the car..

Same as above but a different angle.

I think, I prefer this shot over the other two because of the cloud in the top right corner gives a better balance.

1st Coastal Observation of 2026

Beach Huts, Herbrand Walk, Coden, East Sussex.
January 26th, 2026 the air is still and cold….The sky is leaden grey and seems endless…Stones are piled up towards
the huts pushed by the sea as it surges forwards and backwards.

Bexhill beach…Tide is out two people are fishing the English Channel.

Groynes stand like small soldiers protecting the beach from the onslaught of the sea.

De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill.

Lifeguard hut. Bexhill.

Bexhill On Sea.

Chairs and table waiting for winter custom….But everyone was huddled in the cafe. Finishing off in colour.
